Tips for Constructors
For correct frame and quality construction, attention should be given to:
In checking the profile upon receipt of the order and store them in a protected area and on special shelves to avoid shocks and scratches.
In choosing the appropriate profile for construction.
In choosing parts according to the specifications of the system manual produced by the Group.
In strict cutting measures as listed in Technical Manuals.
In use the proper lubricants and cutting fluids.
According to the instructions of the General Technical Manuals of ALCO Hellas SA, particular attention should be given to:
In opening the appropriate holes in sheets and cases for runoff water.
To the use of appropriate special adhesives for sealing window frames and proper water runoff.
The correct placement of the windows, diagonally to avoid distortion boards (hanging).
In the dual sealing and positioning silicates in glass.
In careful count masonry openings, with necessary extra space (air), the proper placement of windows.
In use the proper sealant during installation.
In the protection of joints with joint glue to avoid filamentous corrosion.
In the frequent maintenance of mechanical equipment manufacturers.
Tips for Consumers
Cleaning of frames
Cleaning of the surfaces of the frames is necessary.
By following these simple maintenance procedures, prolonged maintenance of finish and enhanced resistance against corrosion.
We recommend: Cleaning be with drinking water.
In any case, you should avoid the use of chemicals (eg detergents or other more active substances), because they are capable of altering the surfaces of the frame and cause erosion.
Clean soft sponges or cloths, must bring the water into contact with the profile, so as not to etch the surface of the frame of the grating.
The Group ALCO has special cleaning products for aluminum profiles, which are available via its commercial network.
The cleaners are particularly useful for:
Removal of all the acidic and alkaline materials (cement, stucco, plaster, etc.), which are deposited on the surfaces of the frame,
Remove salts in areas that are highly polluted, such as coastal and
Remove aggravating chemical pollutants in areas with heavy air pollution.
In the latter two cases, you should clean the frames with greater frequency and diligence.
Protective film
In final stages of production of profiles, placed on their surface specific film. These films protect the color from scratches that may be caused:
On the shelves where is the storage,
Because of transportation,
During the construction phase to the final location.
The protective film should be removed in any case immediately after the placement of the frame.
If for any reason the film is not removed, there is a serious risk to remain unsightly stains (stamps), particularly visible in the painting.
Unfortunately in most cases * the stamp on the color can not be removed and remain indelible.
(* Large residence time frame exposed to sunlight).
